Dr. Patricia Watson Allison Queen

Dr. Patricia Watson Allison Queen, age 83, formerly of Troy, Alabama died Saturday, January 16, 2016.
Dr. Queen was born in Centre, Alabama on March 13, 1932, the daughter of the late John Edward Watson, Sr. and Elinor Robinette Watson.
She earned her Doctorate of Education from the University of Alabama and was professor of Health, Physical Education and Dance at Troy University from 1961 until 1983. Dr. Queen was an advocate of Physical Education having served as a delegate from Alabama at three national conventions with the National Education Association. She was also a member of the Alabama Education Association, Troy Charity League, Delta Kappa Gamma and Zeta Tau Alpha. Dr. Queen later taught dance and coached tennis at Okaloosa-Walton Community College in Niceville, Florida. She was an avid Alabama Football fan, Duke Basketball fan and enjoyed playing golf.
Physical education was important to Dr. Queen but so was her faith. She was a member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Troy, Alabama, having served on the vestry, junior warden in 2004 and the alter guild from 1957-2011.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, David and Sherry Allison of Mobile, Alabama, Ward and Martha Anne Allison of Glenwood, Alabama; daughter, Robin Muse of Roopville; grandchildren, Benjamin Muse, Jake Allison and Virginia Allison. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Edward Donnald (Don) Allison; second husband, Ernest L. (Sonny) Queen; brothers, John Watson, Jr. and George Watson, Sr.
A funeral service will be held Friday, January 22, 2016 at 4 p.m. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Troy, Alabama.
