Jesse Dix of Troy has been awarded a 50-year pin for 50 years of continuous membership and loyalty, protection and service to fellow shipmates of the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA).

Dix joined the FRA in 1965 and has never let his membership lapse.

“Not many of us have the opportunity to serve our shipmates for 50 years,” said John Ippert, FRA national president. “I salute you.”

Ippert quoted the late Dr. Paul W. Moody in saying, “The measure of a man is not the number of his servants but in the number of people whom he serves.”

“Jesse Dix has served all sailors, marines, coast guardsmen and their families through his FRA activity and continuous membership,” Ippert said. “For this, he has the admiration, appreciation and thanks of FRA Shipmates everywhere.”
