Serving as pallbearers will be Freddy Turner, Garrison Johnston, Reid Johnson, Jack Johnston, Jay Carnley, and Uvone Carnley. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at Green Hills Funeral Home. Ms. Rainey was born and raised in Luverne, Alabama, and a longtime resident of Pike County. She retired as a nursing assistant from Troy Health and Rehab, and spent time worshiping at Tennille Methodist Church and Community Baptist Church in Pine Level. Ms. Rainey enjoyed sitting down with a good book, often relishing the storylines of Danielle Steele, James Patterson, and Stephen King. And, when she wasn’t reading she was baking, dubbed as “the best cake baker in the world.” She was loved by all, and will surely be missed. Ms. Rainey was preceded in death by her parents, Irby and Bernice Jeffcoat Mills; and brother, Larry Mills. She is survived by her children, Angel (Tim) Faulkner, Janet (Donnie) Green, and Tony (Dominique) Rainey; grandchildren, Amber (Brent) Evans, Robyn (Mitch) Johnston, Uvone Carnley, Jay (Cody) Carnley, Carman (Tim) Fulmore, Jessie Morgan, Sydney Morgan, and Dakota Rainey; great-grandchildren, Madison Johnson, Reid Johnson, Garrison Johnston, Jackson Johnston, Layla Carnley, Sam Carnley, Ben Carnley, CJ Fulmore, and Kennedy Fulmore; sister, June (Willie) Taylor; sister-in-law, Judy Mills; and special friend, Rebecca Dansby. The family would like to extend special thanks and appreciation to the staffs of Troy Health and Rehab and Hospice Advantage for their exceptional care and support. In lieu of flowers, contribution may be made in her honor to the Pike County Relay for Life. Friends and family can sign the guestbook online at www.greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Rainey family.
