That’s the message Troy Police Chief Randall Barr shared on Wednesday as an alert circulated on Facebook regarding a suspicous person in “Troy.”

“I’ve heard about it, but it’s in Troy, Michigan, not Troy, Alabama,” Barr said. “The message isn’t clear, but if you click through you’ll see it goes to the Troy, Michigan, department.”

The message warns of a suspicious person photographing children with a cell phone and asks residents to contact 911 if the person and vehicle are sighted.

“Thankfully, we’ve not had any reports like that in our area,” Barr said. “But it pays for everyone to be alert and aware of their surroundings, especially at this time of the year.”
