The Pea River Presbyterian Church history book took 14 months, 4,400 working hours and inspired motivation to complete.
The book is titled “Pea River Presbyterian Church Clio, Barbour County, Alabama Celebrating 190 Years.” About 300 of the books were purchased for sale; only a few remain. The church history books are once again being offered for sale in hopes that families with connections to the historic church will take advantage of this final opportunity, said Mary P. Williams, church member and compiler of the church history for the book.
The Pea River Presbyterian Church history book has been sold in 12 states from Florida to Virginia and from Georgia to Texas to people with connections to the Clio church.
“Pea River Presbyterian Church is the oldest Presbyterian Church in Barbour County and one of the oldest Presbyterian Churches in Alabama,” Williams said. “The history of the church was a labor of love for the Glory of God and the great things He has done to and for the Pea River Presbyterian Church for 190 years and counting.”
The church history book has 10 chapters and more than 400 photographs, black and white and color.
“There are 56 references and 154 Bible verses quoted throughout the book,” Williams said. “The 354-page book has a solid blue hard cover for long and lasting wear.”
The church history books are $65 for pick up or $75 to include mailing.
Payments may be made to Pea River Presbyterian Church c/o Mary P. Williams, 150 Clio Short Road, Louisville, AL 36048.
