Wendell Ray Childs, age 56, a resident of Troy, AL died Thursday, December 03, 2015 at Baptist South Medical Center in Montgomery. Funeral services for Mr. Childs will be Monday, December 7, 2015 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Rev. Curtis Faulkner and Minister Floyd Noble officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 2-4 at Dillard Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tracy Davis, Larry Bujnowski, Richard Hatfield, Brandon Bujnowski and Jason “Bill Till” Tillery, Adrian White. Honoray pallbearers will be Stanley Henderson, Glen Harris,Wade Lowery and Jeff Hickey.

Mr. Childs is survived by his children, Byron Childs (Jessica), Brandy Childs (Cameron) and Zack Davis; his companion, Angi Shirley; his children’s mother and best friend, Cathy Witherington (Kevin); Brandy and Byron Godmother, Elizabeth (Little darlin’ Liz) Henley; grandchildren, Lilygrace Raye Childs, Brianna Leigh Howard, and Haley Marie Howard; nephews, Ricky “Toe Joe” Childs Jr. (Liz) and Christopher “Chubby” Childs (Carlina); nieces, Jenny Childs Speigner (Brandon Yancey) and Renae (Nae Nae) Bundy (Dewayne); numerous great nieces and nephews and dozens of adopted brothers, children and other family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Bertha Mae Childs Jr., Brother, Ricky Childs Sr., and sister-in-law, Brenda Childs Catrett.
