TPL presents ‘Christmas stories with Santa’ Tuesday

Just about this time every year, Santa Claus comes to town to gather his elves that have stayed around to see who’s naughty and who’s nice and take them back to the North Pole to work in his toy shop.

The Troy Public Library has been notified that Santa Claus is coming to Troy on Tuesday and wants all the children to come and share their Christmas wishes with him.

“We are very excited that Santa Claus will take time to stop at our library for ‘Christmas Stories with Santa,’” said Teresa Colvin, children’s librarian. “Santa has something very special planned for the children who come to see him. Santa loves to read and one of his favorite stories is ‘The Night Before Christmas’ and he wants all the children to come at 6 p.m. so he can read the story to them.”

Colvin said hearing Santa read the classic children’s Christmas story will make this Christmas extra special to the children.

“After Santa reads to the children, he wants to take time to visit with each child and hear their Christmas wishes,” Colvin said. “Santa wants the younger children to visit with him first because they have to go to bed early. We’ll have a waiting area with lots of fun things for the children to do while they wait for their visits with Santa.”

There will be Christmas books for reading and coloring and ornaments to make and take home for the family Christmas tree.

“Parents may feel free to take photographs of their children with Santa,” Colvin said. “Those are precious moments that parents will want to capture.”

“Christmas Stories with Santa” will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8 at the Troy Public Library. Children of all ages are invited to attend.
