Steve Thrash announced his candidacy for Pike County Commissioner District 4 as a Democratic candidate.

“I was honored when Commissioner Ray Goodson asked if I would consider running for commissioner,” Thrash said. “I would personally like to thank Goodson for his years of service.

“I believe that I would be an asset to the County Commission,” Thrash said. “I have years of experience configuring large budgets, working with architects, engineers and with numerous individuals within the community and on the state and federal level on a daily basis.”

Thrash said he also pledges to support and be an advocate for the Pike County School System, the Pike County Sheriff’s Department and the Volunteer Fire Departments.

Thrash said he is committed to striving to bring more industry into the community.

“I pledge to utilize my experience in budgeting and creating long term plans to problem solve any monetary issues and to ensure that taxpayers money is spent wisely,” Thrash said. “Taxpayers don’t need more burdens; they need more solutions.”

Thrash served as a member and a deacon at Shiloh Baptist Church. He is also an active member of the Brundidge Rotary Club. Thrash is married to Sharon Senn Thrash and has three children, Wes, Amber and Keason Thrash. He also has three grandchildren.

“I would like to ask for your support as I embark on this endeavor to become Pike County Commissioner for District 4,” Thrash said.
