Tennille United Methodist Church celebrated its 100th anniversary on Saturday with wagon rides, games, old-time gospel congregational singing and special music by Lenny Trawick and Mike Warren, Beauty for Ashes, The Benton Brothers and Company and The Lighthouse Singers and, of course, chicken and pork hot off the grill and all the trimmings. Tennille held a celebration service on Sunday, as did Ramah Baptist Church near Josie. Ramah celebrate its 175th anniversary.

Brady Austin was one of the chief cooks at Tennille’s Saturday celebration. Austin is known for his grilled chicken and pork. He is also known for his cornbread but he has to have a skillet for that.
