Rebbecca Ransom made a tearful plea Tuesday afternoon for those with information about the death of her son, Pryzim Ransom, to let their voices be heard.

Pryzim Ransom, 23, was shot and killed on Dec. 27, 2014 during an altercation at Upper Cut Barber Shop in Brundidge.

“I keep thinking all of this is a bad dream and I’ll wake up,” Ransom said. “But I don’t wake up. I don’t have a life anymore. It’s not the same without my son. He was a good, sweet young man. He was my heart and I don’t know why he got shot and left on the ground like a dog to die. I won’t have no peace until my son’s killer is brought to justice.”

Ransom joined Brundidge Police officers, Detective Charles Beasley and Lt. Charles Wilson and Tony Garrett, director of Central Alabama Crime Stoppers Tuesday in announcing an $11,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the individual who shot and killed Pryzim Ransom on that cold December night.

The Brundidge Police Department and Central Alabama Crime Stoppers have formed a partnership that Wilson said will aid the police department in solving crimes through increased public awareness.

“Even though we have had some good leads into who killed Pryzim Ransom, we want to make sure that, when we make an arrest, we can get an conviction,” Beasley said. “What we need is for someone to come forth with that vital information. And, there is someone or several people who have that information. We believe the reward that is being offered will encourage someone to reveal what they know.”

Central Alabama Crime Stoppers is offering $1,000 in reward money. The City of Brundidge and the Alabama Attorney General’s Office are offering $5,000 each.

Wilson said the early morning altercation as the Upper Cut Barber Shop escalated and multiple shots were fired. Three people were shot and one died.

“We trying now to nail down the suspects,” he said. “There were around 50 people at the party but nobody saw anything or is not telling. But somebody knows something and we are hoping they will come forward so this family (Ransom) can have closure.”

Wilson said the police have a couple of strong suspects and, with the reward money and the assistance of Crime Stoppers, the crime should be solved.

Garrett said anyone with information about events surrounding the death of Pryzim Ransom is asked to share that information with Central Alabama Crime Stoppers or the Brundidge Police Department.

“Anyone wishing to provide information and remain anonymous can be assured that their identity will not be revealed,” Garrett said. “Those who pass along details of a crime are never asked their name. The phone call is not recorded and the phone number never identified.”

Those with information about the events surrounding the death of Pryzim Ransom are encouraged to contact Central Alabama Crime Stoppers at 215STOP.COM or 334-215-STOP.
