A Troy man was killed in a one-vehicle accident Friday on County Road 1166 at approximately 10:51 p.m.

According to Cpl. Jess Thorton, ALEA public information officer, Willie R. Merritt, 61, of Troy, died late Friday after being ejected from his Ford Taurus, which left the roadway. Merritt was killed as a result of his injuries. It was a single vehicle crash.
