Charles Edward Simmons, age 71, a resident of Goshen, Alabama died Friday, August 21, 2015. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 24, 2015 at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverend Mike Thomas and Reverend J. C. Turner officiating. Interment will follow in Old Lebanon Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be held Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Mr. Simmons is survived by his wife Mary Ellen Simmons of Goshen; his daughter and son-in-law; Donna and Greg Turner of Troy; his son, James Ronald Simmons of Goshen; 2 brothers, Tommy Youngblood and Carol of Troy; and Doug Youngblood of Atlanta, GA; granddaughter, Tasha and Chris Duke of Grady; grandsons, Dillon and Dalton Turner; great-granddaughters, Elizabeth Duke and Brooklyn Duke of Grady and a special nephew, Jason Youngblood and many other nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents John Edwin Simmons and Fannie Lou Stephens.

Pallbearers will be Bill Stewart, Ray Rhodes, Thomas Outlaw, Paul Outlaw, Willie Jones, Jeffery Berry, Patrick Lucas, Billy Joe Cobb and Leo Cobb. Honorary pallbearers will be the Troy Fire Department.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Old Lebanon Cemetery.
