The Troy City Schools Board of Education approved additional resignations and hires during a called meeting on Monday.

The board approved the resignations of Dorothy Peterson, Charles Henderson High School English teacher, and Lisa Newswanger, Troy Elementary School secretary.

Peterson taught 10th and 12th grade English, including AP English. Allie Park, formerly hired as computer aide at TES, will transfer to CHHS to teach the 10th grade classes. Casey Moore, who was hired earlier this summer, will teach the senior and AP classes, said Dr. Lee Hicks, superintendent.

The board also approved the hire of Eula Pouncey as TES secretary and Jawara White as TES aide. Quaylan Moncrief will transfer from TES aide to the computer lab.

Classes are scheduled to begin Wednesday for all Troy City Schools.
