18-wheeler overturns on highway (photo)

Messenger photo/Scottie Brown A one-vehicle wreck in the area of mile marker four on Alabama Highway 223 slowed traffic and closed the road for approximately five hours while gasoline was cleaned off of the roadway after an 18-wheeler ran off the roadway and overturned in the shoulder of the highway. The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, and the road was closed until approximately 3 p.m. The driver reported minor injuries following the incident but was walking around outside of the vehicle shortly after the crash. The crash is still under investigation by Alabama State Troopers and nothing further is available.
