Melvyn D. Hayes, age 74, of Brundidge died, Monday, June 15, 2015 at Jackson Hospital in Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 18, 2015 at 3:00 pm from the St. Johns Baptist Church with Reverend Averyt Walker officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.

He is survived by his wife Annelle Hayes, his sons Rick (Missy) Hayes, Randall (Rhonda) Hayes, his grandchildren Amanda Jenkins, Kasey (Adam) Vinson, Wesley (Brittany) Hayes, Hallie Hayes, his great grandchildren Emma Rose Jenkins, and Max Vinson, his sisters Inez “Cricket” Hayes, and Shirley Petway, several nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Wesley Hayes, Gary Ellis, Allan Harrison, Adam Vinson, David Carlisle, and Ashley Jenkins.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Masonic Lodge 184.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
