The Summer 2015 Brown Bag on the Square concert series continues today on the Square in downtown Troy.

The festivities will begin at noon with entertainment by the Boot Scootin’s Seniors from the Colley Senior Complex. DJ Hendoc will be the emcee for the event.

Isaiah Scott, Troy Recreation Department, said the Brown Bag Dancers are expected to also take center stage.

“The Brown Bag Dancers made their debut at the last Brown Bag and we fully expect them to entertain us again,” Scott said.

The Brown Bag lunches are an opportunity for the community to come together for an hour of fellowship and fun.

“We encourage everyone to take this hour and enjoy lunch in historic downtown Troy,” Scott said. “Tables will be set up and you can sit and enjoy a picnic lunch or a take-out from one of your favorite restaurants. There are several downtown restaurants for those who want to get lunch around the square.”

Scott said the downtown Square is an ideal place for an informal get-together.

“The Brown Bag Lunch will offer fun, food, fellowship and great entertainment in a great park setting,” he said. “We plan to have a large crowd and we can promise a good time.”

Today’s Brown Bag Lunch will be the second in the series of four. Other Brown Bags will be June 11 and 25.
