The Charles Henderson girls’ journey to a state basketball title was ended abruptly in Monday morning’s 5A regional semifinal with a 51-43 loss to Brewbaker Tech in Dothan.

The Lady Trojans hurt themselves with poor free throw shooting in the game, going just 9-of-23 from behind the line.

The Charles Henderson bench was on point in the loss, outscoring the Brewbaker Tech bench 14-5.

With victory in their sights, the Lady Trojans faded in the fourth quarter as they were outscored 16-7 in the final eight minutes.

India Blakely scored 20 for the Trojans. Kyra Scott scored 12.

Charles Henderson’s go-to inside presence, Maori Davenport, was ineffective in the game, scoring just six points.
