Timothy “Tim:” O’Donnell Farren, 40, of Troy, Alabama, and formerly of Vicksburg, Mississippi, passed away unexpectedly of natural causes on Thursday, January 23, 2015, at his residence. The Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated on Wednesday, January 28, at 2:30 in the afternoon, at Saint Martin of Tours, 725 Elba Highway, in Troy, Alabama with Father Irwin officiating. The viewing will be on Tuesday, January 27, from 2:00-4:00, at Skeen Funeral Home, 707 South George Wallace Drive in Troy, Alabama. Born on September 6, 1974, in Omaha, Nebraska, Tim was the son of Jack and Ann Farren.
After graduating from St. Aloysius High School, Tim attended Louisiana State University where he earned an industrial engineering degree. He was an avid LSU fan who made every effort to watch all games his alma mater played and was usually seen sporting purple and gold.
Tim moved to Troy, Alabama, to work for Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation, where he was respected and loved by those who were fortunate enough to work with him. When he wasn’t working, Tim could be found riding his motorcycle and helping others, especially children. He was known for his love of all children and his ability to connect with them, something that parents often commented on. Like the children he inspired, Tim found good in everyone he met.
Tim was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Donahoe Farren; his brother, Michael Francis; and his sister, Sheila Marie.
Tim is survived by his father, Jack Farren; three brothers and their wives, John and Marion Farren, Mark and Shannon Farren, Kevin and Leslie Farren; his sister and her husband, Ann Marie and Lynn Francis; and eight nephews and nieces.
