Victoria “Vickie” Lynn Barton, age 67 of Troy, died Monday, November 17, 2014 at her residence. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Green Hills Funeral Home with Rev. Bo Weed officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Johnny Witherington and the members of the Ladies 3 Sunday school class. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Vickie was preceded in death by her father, Charles Bagley and her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Campbell. She is survived by her mother, Hilma Campbell Bagley; uncle, Joe Van Campbell (Louise); aunt, Wanda Stephens (Roy); numerous cousins and special friends.

Vickie is fondly remembered as a “prissy Southern lady.” She loved to be pampered with “the works, that is, hair, mani and pedi,” and she especially loved the color purple. The arrival of football season, however, brought about Vickie’s other favorite colors, as she devoutly cheered on her Crimson Tide team most every game day. Vickie was drawn to animals, so much so that she even rescued her late cat “Therapy” from a dumpster. She was a dedicated worker, spending most of her career days in Mobile, Alabama. Upon her return to Troy, she indulged her spare time with worshiping at Southside Baptist Church and spending time with family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Vickie’s honor to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund (522 South Brundidge Street, Troy, Al 36081). Family and friends can sign the guestbook at greenhillsfuneralhome.net. The staff of Green Hills Funeral Home is honored to serve the Barton family.
