Montres Kitchens intercepted three passes, one of which he returned for a touchdown, and Jordan Chunn rushed for 193 yards as Troy defeated Idaho, 34-17 in head coach Larry Blakeney’s final road game at the Kibbie Dome in Moscow, Idaho.

Kitchens’ three interceptions on the day, which tied a school record, came on three straight Idaho offensive possessions in the third quarter Saturday. On his third pick, he returned it 28 yards for a touchdown, putting the Trojans up 31-17 and icing the game.

Chunn’s 193 yards on the ground were the most by any Trojan this season and the most of his career. The sophomore’s lone touchdown on the day came midway through the second quarter with a 13-yard run that put the Trojans up 17-3.

Quarterback Brandon Silvers, who has seen a resurgence the last two weeks, finished 19-of-25 for 231 yards and two touchdowns. Silvers’ two scores through the air came on a 41-yard pass to Bryan Holmes in the first quarter for the game’s first score and a 51-yarder in the second quarter to give the Trojans a 24-17 lead.

Holmes finished with six catches for 97 yards, and running back Khary Franklin joined, catching five passes for 75 yards and 15 rushes for 61 yards.

Kicker Ryan Kay capped Troy’s scoring with a 20-yard field goal early in the fourth quarter after kicking a 40-yarder earlier in the game.

The Trojans will take next week off before hosting UL Lafayette on November 29 in the season finale. The game will be the final one for legendary Troy head coach Larry Blakeney, who announced his retirement earlier this year.
