Friday, Troy traveled to Little Rock to take on UALR, winning easily 3-0.

Adding to what has already been a banner year for Troy soccer, junior forward Chelsey Williams set a new school record when she scored her 24th career goal against UALR.

“The goal came at an ideal time, we were really under pressure until that time,” head coach Jason Hamilton said.

The 3-0 win was Troy’s 10th shutout of the year.

On Sunday, Troy traveled to Jonesboro and defeated Arkansas State 3-0, clinching the No. 2 seed in the conference tournament.

Alissa Jones, third in career points at Troy, scored the game’s first goal in the 56th minute, making her the school’s single-season record holder for points in a season with 32. Jones added to her record in the game’s 68th minute when she scored her second goal of the game.

This is Troy’s best ever conference performance since joining in 2005.

Troy will play seventh-seeded UL Lafayette at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 5 in Mobile.
