ladyCandace Hines Daughtry, age 55, of Troy, Alabama, died Saturday, October 18, 2014. Mrs. Daughtry is best remembered as an ambitious soul, tender heart and helping hand. She spent her lifetime as a gracious servant to all─a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a jack-of-all-trades, an animal whisperer, and a precious friend. She devoted her time and musical talents to the Homeward Bound Gospel Quartet and, at one time, as the pianist for Ansley Baptist Church. Mrs. Daughtry was a page-turner reader, beach beauty, power-tool enthusiast, barefoot Southern belle, a challenge conqueror, and accomplished in the kitchen, well, with the exception of her cooking downfall, biscuits. Her lively spirit brightened many hearts and shaped many smiles, all certain to cherish the memory of her for their lifetimes.

Mrs. Daughtry was preceded in death by her mother, Mavis Eddins Kendrick. She is survived by her father, Paul D. Kendrick of Jack, AL; husband, Rickey Daughtry; daughter, Britney Asher (husband, Jeremy) of Troy, AL; sons, David Ebarb (wife, Jean) of Wetumpka and Daniel Ebarb (fiancé, Audra Shumpert) of Troy, AL; stepsons, Chad and Chip Daughtry; and stepdaughter, Rikki Lee Daughtry; grandchildren, Brodee Asher, Alex Asher, Kingston Ebarb, and two future babies; brothers, Milton Kendrick (Carol) of Tallahassee, FL, Ronald Kendrick (Nita) of Montgomery, AL, and Russell Kendrick (Donna) of Orange Beach, AL; sister, Lisa Kendrick Smoke (Ronnie) of Tallassee, AL; numerous nieces and nephews; and a multitude of special friends she called family.
