Work will begin Tuesday morning to resurface a portion of Hwy 231 in Brundidge.

The Alabama department of Transportation would like to inform the public that Midsouth Paving, Inc. will begin work on the resurfacing and traffic stripe on State Route 53 (US-231). The stretch of road from south of the junction of SR-93 to north of Veterans Boulevard in Brundidge will be affected. The length of the project is 2.588 miles and is expected to be completed within approximately 60 working days.

“The asphalt has exceeded the lifetime of years we allow it to be on the roadway before we resurface it,” Christopher Jay, ALDOT Project Manager said.
