A single-vehicle crash Sunday, Sept. 28, claimed the life of a Troy man and injured another, according to the Alabama State Troopers.

Demetric Upshaw, 33, was injured when the 2005 Lincoln LS he was driving ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

A passenger, Herbert Pollard, 48, was transported to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery where he died from the injuries he received in the crash.

The crash occurred at 4:10 p.m. on Pike Road 2214 four miles south of Troy. Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
