Troy University has dismissed one football player and suspended another for three games following violations of athletic department policy, Athletic Director John Hartwell announced Wednesday in a press release.

No. 8 for the Trojans Cardell Lue was dismissed from the Trojan Football team Wednesday afternoon. Lue was a sophomore and played cornerback for the Trojans. Lue appeared in six games during his first career season.

Lue was credited with two pass break ups, one at Ole Miss and one at Mississippi State. Lue was also credited with one tackle against UAB, Mississippi State and Ole Miss for the 2013 season. Lue played in only one game for the Trojans in the 2014 season.

No. 7 for the Trojans, T.J. Fuller has been suspended from three games following his violation. Fuller is a newcomer to the Trojan football team. Fuller started as a nickleback against UAB and Duke.

Assistant director of athletics and media relations for the Trojans football team Adam Prendergast said the athletic department would not make a comment about the dismissal of Lue or suspension of Fuller at this time. “We’re not making any comments right now,” Prendergast said. “All we are saying is what we released earlier.”

The Trojans, 0-2, will host Abilene Christian for a non-conference game Saturday, Sept. 13 at 6 p.m. in Veterans Memorial Stadium.
