Most of her professional career was spent in Civil Service. She was an adventuress from an early age and as a young girl once walked across the top of a bridge in leather soled shoes on a dare. She traveled alone to Alaska, worked in Las Vegas, visited China in her 70’s, went white water rafting for her 80th birthday and in her 90’s rode in a chase vehicle from Calgary, Alberta to Hyder, Alaska following her son’s annual group Florida to Alaska motorcycle run.

Dancing was Doris’ passion. It was a weekly activity that she continued throughout her life. She was a skilled fisherman and would never live in a home unless it had a water view. Doris was a generous woman who belonged to many service organizations.

She is survived by her devoted son Dr. Michael Tuccelli of St. Augustine, Florida, three grandchildren, three great grandchildren, two stepsons, a step daughter, many step grandchildren, two nieces, a nephew, many caring friends and her beloved Peacock family in Alabama.
