Riverview Baptist Church will host a gospel singing fund-raiser for the Addiction Recovery Ministry from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday.
The gospel singing will feature Pot Holes, David Long of Birmingham, Minister LeShea Money Rogers, Minister Sonya Knight and the Whitewater Missionary Baptist Church Praise Team.
Testimonies will be given by Bubba Campbell, Jason Ming and Stacy Powell.
Campbell said everyone could benefit from seeing what the Lord has done in the lives of those who have trusted Him to bring them out of the darkness of addiction and into a world of hope and promise.
“The Addiction Recovery Ministry is there to help, support and encourage those whose lives are being controlled by addictions,” Campbell said. “The ministry team is there to help those who are recovering from addictions get back on their feet.”
Campbell said addiction recovery is difficult at best.
“When you have someone along who has been down the same path and understands what you are going through, it makes the journey a little easier,” he said. “The Addiction Recovery Ministry meets at 7 p.m. on Wednesdays at Riverview Baptist Church north of Troy. Those who are struggling with addiction recovery or have a family member or friend who is in recovery, are invited and encouraged to join us.”
Campbell said no admission will be charged for the gospel singing.
“We will take a love offering in support of the Addiction Recovery Ministry and people may give as they are led,” he said. “This is a fund-raiser but, hopefully, it will also increase awareness that addiction recovery is possible and it brings you out of darkness and into the light.”
Campbell said the singing will be uplifting and the testimonies will be inspiring.
“So come and see what the Lord has done for others and what He can do for you and those you love,” he said.
