Two teenagers have been charged with breaking into vehicles in the Allen Street and First Avenue area.

The incidents took place on July 31, when Troy police were called to a report of suspicious persons in the area.

Lt. Bryan Weed, public information officer, said officers talked with the suspects and determined that one of the suspects, an 18-year-old male, was wanted on first-degree possession of marijuana charges. He was arrested and the 17-year-old male with him was taken to the police department to be released to his parents.

Later that day, police learned someone had broken into one of the vehicles in that area and property was taken.

The investigation led police to charge the juvenile with breaking and entering of a motor vehicle. The 18-year-old was charged with felony breaking and entering.

The 18-year-old was being held on $10,000 bond in the Pike County Jail. The juvenile was being held pending a juvenile court hearing.

Police would not release the names of the suspects, as the case remains under investigation.
