Oscar Kyle “O.K.” McDowell, age 67, a resident of Brundidge, AL died Saturday, July 26, 2014. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at the Brundidge United Methodist Church with Reverend Ed Shirley officiating. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 29, 2014 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the Brundidge United Methodist Church.

Mr. McDowell is survived by his wife Adella Wilson McDowell; 3 daughters, Wendy Swindall (Todd), Penny Dickert (Chuck), Michele Waren (Brent); son, Kyle Wilson McDowell (Brooke); 7 grandchildren, Haley Elizabeth Hall, Trey Hall, Grady Waren, Madelyn Grace Waren, Abbie McDowell Dickert, John Wilson McDowell, and Shelby Audrianna Swindall.

A life-long resident of Brundidge, O.K. was a farmer, a small business owner, and a pillar in his community. Known by many and loved by all who knew him, he was truly “one-of-a-kind.” He enjoyed simple, everyday life – working hard at his antique business, gardening, yard work, dove hunting, and spending time with his family and friends.

He was an honorable man, a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be missed.

In-lieu-of flowers memorials may be made to the Brundidge United Methodist Church or New Hope Baptist Church.
