Troy PD arrests suspect in armed robbery

A man wanted for armed robbery and eluding police is now in custody.

Rashaun Devante Thomas, 20, of Troy is wanted for first-degree robbery in connection the theft of a 2002 Honda CRV stolen at gunpoint in the 600 block of Henderson Drive around 8:40 p.m. Tuesday.

“We arrested him this morning,” said Lt. Bryan Weed of the Troy Police Department. “At approximately 9:50 a.m. this morning, Troy Police Department detectives arrested Thomas at a residence on Henderson Drive.”

Police say Thomas led officers on a high-speed chase through the city before crashing the vehicle into a utility pole at Elm and Griffin streets and fleeing on foot.

Thomas may also face several additional misdemeanor charges stemming from the vehicle pursuit.

Thomas is being held at Pike County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
