A portion of South Three Notch Street will be closed for improvements beginning Monday, June 23.

One lane will be closed between Seagers Street and the intersection of Montgomery and Madison streets to allow for infrastructure upgrades.

Primary improvements will be adding a center turning lane and widening the street, according to Troy Public Works Director Vaughn Daniels.

“It will improve traffic flow and reduce congestion on Montgomery and Madison streets,” Daniels said. “It will enhance our city and make it better for everyone once completed.”

The closure will be in place from 7 a.m. until 4 p.m. each day. Pedestrian traffic is prohibited 24 hours a day during the project.

Daniels estimated the project will take two to three weeks to complete. He said at some point both lanes of traffic will likely have to be closed due to the nature of the project.

“I’m hoping we won’t have to, but with widening the road it may at some point be necessary,” Daniels said.

If both lanes are closed, a detour will be set up from Seagers Street to Mongomery Street with signage.
