Burglary suspects arrested

Two men have been charged with first degree burglary in conjunction with a Monday incident in Troy.
Emmanuel Lewis, 25, and Eddie Slimene Kelly, 23, both of Montgomery, were being held in the Pike County jail.
The  men are charged with burglary of a house in the 1600 block of County Road 1165. According to police, a resident reported a burglary in progress at around 12:19 p.m. on Monday. He threatened the burglars with a firearm, and they fled the scene.
The resident was able to describe the two men who fled, also describing the black Toyota with tinted windows and the direction in which they traveled.
Police said the suspects were apprehended within seven minutes of the call.
According to a release, police are sharing investigative information with the Pike County Sheriff’s Department, the Bullock County Sheriff’s Department and the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department because the vehicle used in the Troy burglary matches descriptions of other burglaries in their jurisdictions.
Troy police spokesman Lt. Bryan Weed said the Montgomery County department executed search warrants on the suspects’ residences and collected property suspected stolen in other burglaries.
The case is remains under investigation.
