For weeks, Richard McBryde has been locked solid on playing football for Auburn in 2015, but now things are up in the air.
Following a trip to Tuscaloosa on Monday, and a visit with Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban; McBryde now says Alabama and Auburn are tied at the top of his list of possible college destinations.
McBryde told The Messenger Friday afternoon that his future is still wide open.
“I grew up a Bama fan and always have been,” said McBryde. “I really like Auburn as well. Coach Saban told me that he sees me as an outside linebacker or a safety for them. I can play either position.”
McBryde received an offer from Auburn in late February, and Alabama followed suit in the first week of March. The soft-spoken linebacker was still solidly in the orange-and-blue camp until the meeting on Monday.
“I haven’t made a decision on where I am going to play,” said McBryde. “I am concentrated on getting better, and getting bigger, faster and stronger right now. I have a year of high school to go, but Auburn and Alabama are at the top.”
McBryde said that Kentucky and Florida round out his top four at the moment.
