Thomas Vaught

Following a long fight with illness, Thomas Vaught departed this life Thursday, March 27, 2014. Tom, to all that knew him was a resident of Spring Hill Community, Pike County, Alabama, was born in Locksburg, Arkansas. He was a high school graduate of Reserve High School in New Mexico. He had an outstanding career in the United States Army, where he was a veteran of the Vietnam War, was decorated with the RVC Gallantry Cross for bravery and valor, and also served with the United States Embassy in New Delhi, India. He was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Mae Mitchell Vaught, his two sons, John Vaught and Tim Vaught, both of Montgomery, Daughter in law, Rena Vaught and three grandchildren, John Vaught Jr., Montgomery, Jessica Vaught Deal, Lady Lake , Florida, and Jennifer Vaught of Montgomery, his in laws, Betty Walker, Mable Horn, Harold and Mary Mitchell, GW and Hilda Biggerstaff (Fruitland Park , Florida) Rodger Mitchell, and Nellie and Lee Arthur Mobley, his devoted friend, Bruce Grimes and numerous nieces , nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 29, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Dillard Funeral home in Troy. Funeral
Services will be held, Sunday, March 30, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with graveside to follow at the Mt. Moriah Cemetery with Reverend Neil Jackson and Reverend Keith Reynolds officiating. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.
Serving as pallbearers will be Bart Andrews, Bruce Grimes, Harold Mitchell, Mike Taylor, John Vaught and Wendell Walker
