The Brundidge Business Association will host the 2014 Miss and Little Miss Brundidge Pageant on April 5 at the Pike County High School Fine Arts Building.
Entries for the annual pageant will be accepted through Monday, March 31 by calling 334-657-8035.
The entry fee for all divisions is $50.
The Miss and Little Miss Brundidge Pageant will have a different format this year and that’s exciting, said Kim Stevens, publicity chair for the annual event.
“We will actually have two pageants, both on April 5,” Stevens said. “The pageant for the younger contestants will be in the afternoon and the older contestants will compete that night.”
The Tiny Miss, Future Little Miss, Petite Miss and Young Miss pageant will be held at 2:30 p.m. The Little Miss, Pre-Teen Miss, Teen Miss and Miss Brundidge pageant will be held at 6:30 p.m.
The divisions are Tiny Miss, ages two to four; Future Little Miss, ages five and six; Little Miss, first grade; Petit Miss, second and third grade; Young Miss, fourth and fifth grade; Pre-Teen Miss, six and eighth grade; Teen Miss, ninth and tenth grade; and Miss, 17-21 years of age.
All divisions are open to all girls and young women in the area except the Little Miss and Miss divisions. Those divisions are open to girls and young women who live in Brundidge or attend school in Brundidge.
“It is recommended that all divisions Tiny Miss through Petit Miss wear heirloom dresses,” Stevens said. “Formal evening gowns or ball gowns should be worn by divisions Pre-Teen through Miss. Only Little Miss Brundidge and Little Miss Brundidge contestants will be interviewed.”
Stevens said Little Miss contestants should wear sporty casual attire for the interview and Miss contestants should wear a suit, a pants suit or Sunday dress for their interview.
“We are hoping to have an opening number for the night pageant and the young women should wear a solid color shirt, jeans with no holes, rips or tears, and no shoes.”
Contestants will be judged on stage presence and personality. The Little Miss and Miss contestants will be judged on interview, stage personality, appearance and on-stage verbal communication.
