‘Tiaras Ball’ slated for Saturday

A unique evening of music and royal splendor is planned for girls ages 12 through 18 at Bush Memorial Baptist Church in Troy on Saturday, April 5.
Marshall LeCroy, church family pastor, said the Tiaras Ball will unravel a night of true love, laughter and worship.
“The Tiaras Ball will let girls know that, in profound ways, they are loved by God,” LeCroy said. “The Tiaras Ball will celebrate and honor all the possibilities awaiting teen girls when they embrace purity, self-respect and self worth.”
LeCroy said the participating girls will learn about God’s design for their lives, discovering His compassion and caring for their individual life choices.
“By painting a picture of God’s perfect love for us and the grace God offers us through faith in Jesus Christ, we hope to help to rewrite the statistics regarding teen pregnancy, promiscuity and suicide, LeCroy said. “In a world where young women are told that beauty is an indication of self-worth, our hope is to offer teenage girls a different source of confidence.
“Our desire is to unveil a message that each girl is the daughter of one true King and, as such, she should honor her body, her decisions and her future.”
As daughters of the one true King, LeCroy said the girls will take part in a crowning ceremony and conclude the evening with an after party to celebrate.
“We want girls from all walks of life to join us for the Tiaras Ball,” LeCroy said. “This is not just for girls with a Baptist background. The Tiara Ball is for all girls ages 12 though 18 and it is completely free.”
Bush Memorial will host a Tiaras Boutique during the weekend prior to the Ball. Dresses will be available for girls that need help in making this night extra special.
LeCroy said no bus service will be provided but the church will have a supervised drop-off and pick-up area designated in the church parking lot. Bush Memorial Baptist Church is located at 605 George Wallace Dr. in Troy.
The Tiaras Ball will begin at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
