A Goshen man faces an April arraignment after being indicted by a grand jury for the murder of one son and the attempted murder of another.
Sammy D. Jackson, 44, was charged after a shooting Nov. 9, 2013, at his County Road 1143 home. He fatally shot his 18-year-old namesake with a 12-gauge shotgun that Saturday morning. He then shot his 16-year-old as the boy escaped through an open window. The 16-year-old survived.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said the shooting was the result of a domestic dispute between Jackson and his wife that started the previous night.
“There was a history of domestic problems, but you never dream that it comes to this,” Thomas said shortly after the shooting.
Jackson has been out on $100,000 and $50,000 bonds since January.
His arraignment will be held April 29.
