P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) celebrates the advancement of women through education.

Elaine Bassett, P.E.O. member, said this year’s spring fashion show will showcase fashions from First Impressions, The Pink Parlor, E + Me and Cotton Creek.

“In the past, women’s and children’s fashions have been the focus of the show, but this year we are excited to include men’s fashions,” Bassett said. “Our models are local people and that adds to the interest of the show.”

The luncheon will feature the P.E.O.’s traditional chicken salad plate. The brothers of the Troy University Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity will be the servers and, just might also be featured on the fashion runway.

“We have a wonderful and exciting spring fashion show planned,” Bassett said. “The fashion show is also a time of fun and fellowship. Joe McCall and Catherine Allard will be the emcees and they will add interest and insight to the show.”

The entertainment for the fashion show is to be announced and will give the models a break from time to time.

As for now, Bassett said the members of P.E.O. want to encourage everyone to make plans to celebrate the coming of spring in fine fashion at the annual show.

Reservations may be made by emailing elaine.bassett@gmail.com and tickets paid for and picked up at the door.

P.E.O. has been active in Troy and Pike County for 10 years.

Funds raised through the annual P.E.O. Spring Fashion Show are used to fund scholarships, grants, awards and loans for women who seek to achieve their highest aspirations.
