A man charged with attempted murder will be doing time for a lesser charge. A jury found Rodrick Rashad Givens guilty of the lesser charge included in the offense of assault in second degree.

The charges stem from an incident that happened April 17 at the Beeline gas station on Three Notch Road during an argument Givens was having with Terrell Blakely. He shot Blakely in the leg as the man fled the encounter.

Givens’ sentencing hearing has been set for April 16 at 9 a.m.
