Wednesday’s Female Factor may be unforgettable as the monthly program that focuses on the unique health concerns of women. will cover dementia and Alzheimer’s.

Guest speakers for the noontime luncheon are Jane Lambert from the East Central Mental Health Center and Shane Cantrell from Troy Health and Rehab.

Organizer Ovida Walden said she looked forward to hearing Lambert speak.

“She’s going to be talking about Alzheimer’s and dementia, what to look for when a person starts down the dementia and Alzheimer’s road,” she said.

Lambert’s East Central Mental Health Center is a non-profit corporation and a comprehensive mental health center that serves Bullock, Pike and Macon counties.

Cantrell will discuss the options people have once they can no longer care for themselves.

Troy Health and Rehab has an Alzheimer’s Unit that specializes in cognitive activities geared especially for those who suffer from the disease. The long term care facility is located off U.S. Highway 231.
