Man dies in riding accident

A Troy man died after falling off a horse Saturday evening.
The incident happened at around 5:15 p.m. on County Road 7763 when 33-year-old Kevin Wayne Singleton fell onto the dirt road.
He died at the scene, said Pike County Coroner Jerry Williams. “He died at the scene.”
Williams said Singleton’s riding party witnessed the accident.
Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas said foul play was not suspected.
“It was just an accident,” he said.
Singleton is a native of Union Springs, He was an Army veteran and is survived by a wife, Brittany; parents, Leon and Judy Singleton; sisters, Angie Sanders and Melisa Lanoie; and brother, Kenneth Singleton. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 5, 2014 at 2 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
