The woman was traveling north on Elba Highway when she lost control of the vehicle, hitting a fire hydrant on the south side of Chris Street and landing more than 30 yards from the road.

“She told us she (rolled) at least six times and stopped just before hitting that tree. Thank God she stopped,” Joshua said.

Jean prayed with the driver while Joshua called for help. The couple also called the driver’s family.

“She was conscious enough to talk to her mother and coherent,” Joshua said. “She said she was okay, just shaken up.”

Jean said she the driver was wearing her seatbelt.

“She looked like she had just gotten off from work, wearing a uniform and nametag,” Jean said.

The wreck is still under investigation by the Alabama Highway Patrol. The driver’s name has not been released.
