The Troy Pilot Club will host a “Loaded Baked Potato Luncheon” from 11 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Thursday, at the Collegedale Church of Christ.
Donna McLaney, event publicity chair, said those who attend may choose from a variety of potato toppings.
The luncheon will also include homemade pound cake and tea.
“The tickets are only 10 dollars and you can dine in or take out. Either way, you’ll have plenty to eat and support the programs of the Troy Pilot Club at the same time,” McLaney said.
The Pilot Club’s popular cookbook, “Pilot Club of Troy” will be available for $10.
“The proceeds from the luncheon and the sale of the cookbook will support the many worthwhile programs of the Troy Pilot Club,” McLaney said. “The Club’s motto is ‘Do More, Care More, Be More’ and we work very hard to do that.
“One of our main programs is Brain Awareness. We go into the schools and talk to students about the importance of protecting their heads by wearing helmets when they ride bicycles and motorcycles. We also provide helmets for students who need them.”
McLaney said the Troy Pilot Club presents puppet shows on safety to school children and awards scholarships.
“We adopt residents at local nursing homes, deliver baskets to families in need at Thanksgiving and Christmas,” she said. “When there is an opportunity to help those in our community, we are willing and ready.”
McLaney said everyone is invited to the ‘Loaded Baked Potato Luncheon’ at Collegedale Church of Christ on Thursday.
Tickets will be available at the door.
