Troy PD seizes cocaine, marijuana and guns in bust

A Troy man was charged with several felony drug charges after narcotics investigators from the Troy Police Department’s Drug Task Force served a search warrant Friday morning.

According to information released by Chief Jimmy Ennis, Anthony Carl Hodges, 44, was charged with trafficking cocaine and possession of marijuana first degree after investigators seized 28 grams of cocaine and 85 plastic baggies of marijuana from his Gidden Street home.

Hodges will also face charges for several firearms seized in the raid. One weapon may earn him a receiving stolen property charge.

“There was a firearm that was recovered that had been reported stolen,” said Lt.. Bryan Weed with Troy PD.

Another weapon’s serial numbers had been filed off, a crime that could result in a possession of an altered firearm for Hodges.

Hodges was processed at the Troy City Jail and transported to the Pike County Jail on a total bond of $60,500.

In an unrelated case, the Troy Police Department assisted the Alabama Beverage Control Board in executing a search warrant in the 600 Block of Hanchey Street Friday night.

The ABC Agents issued a ticket to the person in control of the residence, 39-year-old Jimmie Keith Parnell of Troy.

Parnell was issued a ticket for possession of alcohol for sale without a license and released at the scene.
