Floie Sherrill Newman, age 66, of Banks died Sunday, February 2, 2014. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, February 5, 2014 at 3:00 PM at Dillard Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Price officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hills Cemetery. Dillard Funeral Home in Troy directing.  Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM. At Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

  He is preceded in death by his father , Curtis Newman.  He is survived by his wife, Lynn Newman, Daughter, Ginger Newman Green (Ernest) of Banks, Son, Britt Newman (Christie) of Troy, His Grandchildren, Dresden Green, Brittany Newman,Josey Green, Dustin Newman, and Mother, Rachel Newman of Troy, Two sisters, June Moore (Bennie) of Montgomery, Tammy Olsen (Rob) of Salt Lake City Utah, Brother, Cyril Newman (Linda) of Banks.

He was the owner of Newman Electric Heating and Cooling for 35 years.  He loved fishing, hunting, and especially bird hunting. He also enjoyed being with his grandchildren. Sherrill and Lynn were married for 50 years.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hack Hensley, Larkin Hussey, Larry Leverett, JohnnyLeverett, Lavon McVay and Wyman Watkins. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jimmy Baker, David Dickey, Robert Floyd, Stonie Griffin, Craig Griffin, Jerry Newman, Terry Newman, Jimmy Newman, Earlene Newman, Eddie Powell,  Randy Rushing, Buren Thompson, Danny Thompson and Travis Williams.
