Jonathan Cellon has two dates for this Valentine’s Day. He will be escorting his daughters to the Princess Ball.

“It’s a daddy/daughter dance at the Emporium,” Cellon said.

Organized by the Troy Kiwanis Club, the event is billed as a dance “for little girls and their kings.”

Tickets are $25 per family. Cellon said it was priced to be affordable for dads with more than one daughter.

Proceeds from the dance will support Reading is Fundamental. The nonprofit supports literacy, especially amongst underserved children from birth to age 8. Cellon said funds from the ball would pay for books that would be distributed to children at HeadStart.

Girls who attend the Kiwanis Club’s first-ever Princess Ball have several treats in store for them. The will walk a red carpet and be treated like royalty.

“Each girl will get a tiara as well as a rose,” Cellon said. “There’ll be food, music, portraits and there’ll be dance lessons as well.”

The Emporium is located at 116 West Walnut Street in Troy. The ball will last from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tickets are available at a few of the event’s sponsors: E Plus Me, Edward Jones Investing and Park Memorial United Methodist Church.
