Edward Luke Blackburn

Blackburn, Edward Luke, 56, a resident of Boswell community, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at his home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from Macedonia Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery with Gray Funeral Home directing.

Luke was an accomplished business owner and salesman. He loved his family and community. His love of the land and wildlife were of great importance to him and he worked diligently to leave them better than he found them. His pride and joy were his four dogs and cat with many others along the way. He was a man among men!

He is survived by four sisters: Cheree B. Jeter of Thomasville, GA, Rebecca L. Blackburn of Tallahassee, FL, Jenny B. Robertson of Havana, FL, Nancy Whiddon of Perry, GA; brother: Charles Powell of Douglass, GA; eight nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Rick Mann, Ronald Pierce, Jimmy Alexander, Darrin Hipps, Doug Meredith, and Josh Meredith.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until the service time.
