Two armed men robbed a Dollar General Store in Southland Shopping Center Saturday night. According to Lt. Bryan Weed of the Troy Police Department, no one was injured in the 8:40 p.m. incident.
“The two suspects were wearing bandanas over their faces and were last seen running in the direction of Farmers Furniture,” according to a media release issued Monday by the Troy Police Department.
Customers were in the Highway 87 store at the time of the robbery. One of the robbers kept a customer from leaving during the incident. Weed advised anyone who found themselves in a store during a robbery to cooperate.
“Just comply and move away from the danger,” he said.
He also recommended those who work in stores like Dollar General be aware of their environments and of any suspicious activity near them.
“Though nothing that these folks did could have prevented the crime,” Weed added.
Both suspects are believed to be between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9, with one suspect having hair in long dreadlocks.
Troy P.D. asks that anyone with information about the suspects contact the Troy Police Department at 566-0500, the Troy P.D. Secret Witness Line at 566-5555 or Crime Stoppers at 215-STOP.
