Police arrest man for att. murder

On Friday, the Troy Police Department arrested Macus Tawuan Xavier Scott, 25, of Troy, in connection to a shooting that occurred on the 700-block of Hanchey Street on Nov. 23.

Scott has been charged with attempted murder and is being held on a $50,000 bond at the Pike County Jail.

In the early hours of Nov. 23, police responded to reports of a shooting on Hanchey St. at approximately 1 a.m. Officers located a 21-year-old male victim at the scene who had been shot once. The victim was transported to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery where he was treated for his wounds. The victim has since recovered from his injuries and returned home.

While at the scene, officers collected over 20 spent shell casings that had been fired during the shooting.

Scott was arrested at a residence located in the Hillside Mobile Home Park in Troy and was taken to the Troy City Jail where he was processed.

The case is still under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
