Elmo Talmadge Graves

Mr. Elmo Talmadge Graves, age 84 of Goshen died Monday, November 18, 2013 at his home.

He was the son of the late Arthur Edward Graves and Collie Hall Graves. He was born in Pike County on January, 26, 1929, graduated from Goshen High School in 1946. He served in the Army from 1954 to 1956. He then attended Troy State University and received a BS in Business Administration in 1959 and masters in counseling from the University of Georgia in 1974. He worked for the State of Alabama Board of Pardons and Parole for 33 years, where he retired as Executive Director and returned to Pike County in 2004.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 21, 2013 at 11:00 am from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy with Reverends W.O. Sanders and Jared Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in the Good Hope Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy Directing.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years Corine Tate Graves his children Athur Edward (Sarah) Graves of Tampa, FL., Sheila Rebecca Graves of Montgomey, and James Elmo (Jodi) Graves of Madison, AL., grandchildren Rachel Oliva Graves, Julia (Gigi) Clair Graves, William Edward Graves, Benjamin Joseph Graves, Adam Tate Graves, and Elijah James Graves, brothers and sisters-in-law Max and Penny Tate, Ira and Annetta Jeter, and Christine Graves, nieces and nephews Audrey Druss, Scott (Tina) Graves, Christopher Graves, Kevin (Penni) Jeter, Kim (Brandt) Jeter, Melinda (Mark) Comer and Brian (Angela) Tate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Lawrence E. Graves and Harvey Rex (Pal) Graves.

His nephews will serve as active pallbearers.

In Lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be made to the Goshen Baptist Church, the Good Hope Cemetery fund or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
